The 5 Best Electric Motorcycles of 2024

Why E-Motos Rule this Year

While electric motorcycles can’t compete with their combustion engine counterparts when it comes to top speed, power, and range, they’re quickly developing many benefits and advantages of their own, and they keep getting better and better.

Will e-motos ever replace internal combustion bikes entirely? I share my thoughts on the subect at the end of my video on the top 5 e-motos released this year. The short answer? I don’t think so. BUT, that said, it’s the younger generation that will determine the direction of the motorcycle industry.

There are a LOT of young kids and adult new riders getting introduced to motorcycles for the first time through these small, lightweight electric bikes.

These are all about the purity of riding, and as someone who’s been riding their entire life, I have just as much fun on these as I do on combustion bikes.

So, enough introduction, let’s get right to it: The Top 5 E-Motos of 2024.

The 5 Best Electric Motorcycles: Dirt & Street

1. E Ride Pro SS – $4,899

Number one is the E Ride Pro SS. The under $5,000 class right now is swamped with competitors. It’s almost impossible to keep up with them all.

Every week a new e-moto claims, this is the Surron Killer! and then, as it turns out, it can’t kill anything. The E Ride Pro made the same claim, and I kind of rolled my eyes.

Then I rode the bike and was totally impressed with how powerful this thing is. 12 kilowatts of power out of a 72-volt 40-amp battery and power setup.

The Surron Light Bee, for example, only has a max peak power of 6 kilowatts, and a top speed of 45 miles an hour. The E Ride does a top speed of 60 and has 12 kilowatts of peak power.

Surron and Talaria are going to have to up their game to compete with the E Ride Pro SS.

2. Surron Ultra Bee – $7, 500

Speaking of Surron, in the number 2 spot is the Surron Ultra Bee (I know, I know!)

If you happen to work a little bit more overtime and get a bit of extra cash to spend, around $7,000 to $8,000, the Sur-Ron Ultra Bee would be my pick.

The Ultra Bee sits in the middle ground between full-size electric dirt bikes and the lightweight, $5,000 class.

This bike features a 74-volt, 55-amp battery, reaches a top speed of 56 miles an hour, and claims a max peak power of about 12.5 kilowatts.

3. Ryvid Anthem – $6,495

If you want to buy an affordable electric street bike, the Ryvid Anthem is your best bet. But a word of caution: I got about 28 miles of range on a fairly casual ride. Battery technology isn’t quite where it needs to for an affordable, long-range electric street bike.

The Anthem’s not a freeway bike or a long-distance traveller. It’s an electric moto made to cruise around town or commute to work and back. It is, however, one of the fastest charging bikes I’ve ever ridden.

The Ryvid Anthem features a 72-volt battery and has a peak power of around 14 kilowatts.

It has a top speed of a little over 75 miles an hour, and I personally found that you’re able to achieve highway speeds all the way down to 35% battery, which is pretty impressive.

4. Land District – $6,995

Moving on to number 4, we have the Land District.

The District is a 72-volt bike that has a peak power of around 17 kilowatts and a top speed of 70 miles an hour. It’s like the Anthem, except this is more of a dual sport-style bike or a super moto with a street sport version as well.

The District is all-American built and developed in Columbus, Ohio. I’ve met the team. They’re super cool guys and real riders who have been building combustion bikes for years, and it really shows in the way this bike rides.

If you want to get the version with the biggest battery with the most power and range you’re looking at spending around nine thousand dollars.
