What would you expect to pay have your headliner removed and replaced with stock style headliner?

My insurance company is sending me a check for $900 because of mouse damage.

Don't know if this is high or low for other areas, but three years ago the cost for labor to install a headliner and windlace kit in my wagon was $400 at a local shop.

Mine cost $400.00 but was a complicated install as it is a 56 210 4 door hardtop and the headlines comes all the way down the rear dog leg and the windlace is a double windlace above the windows that Ciadella's made for me as an experiment. I am very happy with the install.

Trust me you are not in the wrong job. I own a custom trim shop.

Any headliner can be made to fit any car, if any shop tells you its an experiment they either dont know what they are doing or trying to prepare you for a large labor amount.

I make custom bow style headliners all the time for cars just like ours that come in as a shell with absoulutely nothing and we build all from scratch.

900 is a fair price for a hollow car being made of a high grade vinal.

Its a bit high for just labor.

Me personally I dont use any premade headliners they are all crap, the materials and the craftsmanship because they are massed produced.

I have made them from every upholsery material known to man and it is a time counsumeing job if it is done right.

Just keep in mind Good anit cheap and cheap aint good. How long do you want it to last? That will really set the price range.

Whoever you decide to go with to have it installed, insist on looking at their work. Look at it with your own two eyeballs and examine it with your own two hands. Pay attention to stich quality and ask them if the thread they use is uvr protected.

95% of the trim shops that are in business, are of poor quality at best there are only few that are good and even less that are great. Ask alot of questions, and by all means if you get a bad vibe or see something questionable pass on to the next shop.

Do not let them show you pics of what they have done. Have them show you a product that you can look inside and outside of. (Something that has not been installed.) The inside or hidden parts should look as good as the outside or most visable part.
